So I'm off from Christmas to New Year, whether I want it or not (I won't get paid during that time). My attempt to shift that vacation to Jan didn't fly...
I just found out the Rocky Mountain Super Pass Plus is now available for our-of-town tourists to buy online! It'll give me 6 days in Steamboat, which I've never been before and have always wanted to hit! :) The only thing I'm not sure of, is how crowded it would be during the holiday period. I'm hoping due to the limited bed base, it can't get too far out of hand? Anyone who had been there during the holiday and have some idea how it's typically like?
The RMSP+ also has 3 days on Monarch. I got the impression from occasional mentioning of it by other forum regular that it could be a nice hidden gem of some sort. So I wonder if that would be a potential escape from the crowd compare to the other better known mountains (Copper/Winter Park)?
(casual check of lodging cost of both Steamboat & Salida seems there're sufficient availability and cost is acceptable. So it's really just the crowds on the slope and the lift line that I'm only concern about)
Given I'm going to Colorado during Christmas time anyway, I could even swing both places in the same trip. How's the drive between those two?
Thanks in advance for any information from those in the know! :D
