Observation : Salomon X MAX 120

If you have such a boot,,,,,,, check inside the inner shell ( once liner is out )

Look at data on lower part and upper part of shell.

Noted interesting difference in my boots. Visited several stores and guess what I noted?

Lower shell has 28-28.5 ( mondo size)

Upper shell has  28 - 29  ( mondo size)

Is this current for all boots or did Salomon not have correct mating size and took larger size  part for upper section!

Just asking more "educated", more competent persons!

With great respect,

Pa

That's normal. The lower clog is the same for 28 and 28.5 mondo point boots, this creates the boot 'size'. There is a different size clog for each real boot size.

The upper is used for the 28/28.5/29/29.5 size boots. The manufacturer doesn't need to size these as finely, parts can be shared to lower production costs without effecting performance.

not quite sure what you mean by that,

this information is the same on pretty much every boot on the market, it is not unique to Salomon, at a cost of between €20K-€30K for each mold component it is simply uneconomical to make a different cuff size for every lower shell size
