I am getting an Adobe Flash video player that automatically starts showing the 'latests skiing hightlights' when I log in.  Epicski should NEVER have any video automatically start when we enter the site.  Many of us log in from work and the video and audio crap is a huge intrusion...not an improvement.  At least there is a X that allows me to turn off the Latest Skiing Highlights.  What a pain.

This, the latest installment of "Uphill/Downhill" in which no user is "Ahead" of the popup.

Any video that starts automatically is a scourge on humanity.

"Oh the PopUps!..."

We are working on it. I was mistaken in that Huddler is not handling that content, so perhaps we can address it.

Good job.

Can't we use some of that Costa Rican poison frog venom? Maybe squirt it in a USB port?  I don't think I have Usb 3 though....hmm...

This is when I wish we could go back to the days when the internet was too monochromatic and demanding of minor computing skills to attract the attention of anyone extroverted enough to be in sales.

This is a pretty big obstacle for people trying to log in or create an account.  Chance of Snow hadn't been on the site in a long time and was trying to enter his user name and password.  The damn thing kept hijacking his browser and not letting him click in the box for the password.. The friggin pop up blocks the boxes people need to log in to the site or create an account.

The people at MNC have been notified of the issue.

I'll keep you posted.

For now, it looks like they've replaced the ad with an ad from Alpine Meadows/Squaw Valley.

Let me know if anyone still sees it.

If you refresh the page "it" usually gives you enough time to click the log in. Just don't go wandering with the cursor or you'll have to start over.

What if pop up ads were real?

This is the NBC/Dick's Sporting Goods Ad that appears in the Banner.

As soon as you get to the site, it pops up above the log in.

You can not clear it by clicking the x. It pops up again. This prevents you from logging in.

To get around it, I reload the page and that seems to give me time to log in and get the hell out of there.

I don't mind ads, but this is intolerable.

Firefox 25.01, windows 7

Have you ever heard of an add blocker?   I have no issues here whatsoever.

Adblock Plus 2.4

I still see the Dick's ad with video.

We are trying to make things easy for everyone, not just those who are tech savvy.

Dicks has just been added to the places I will never shop at. I hold long term grudges when

things piss me off needlessly. Very appropriate name easy to remember.

What makes even less sense is why the ad occurs twice in the right hand column, in addition to the one in the header.

I'm coming to realize that the video ad is the reason it's taking EpicSki much longer to load at home.  The DSL at our house is relatively slow.  So I notice when a website includes complex graphics in the design of the homepage.

I was on my PC using Firefox.

BTW the ads are still there.

Certainly hope a change can be made soon.

Here's the funny thing....

I have ads turned off, so once I past the heinous gauntlet of the Dick's "Warehouse of Crap" Store/NBC Universal "We Screwed You Out of World Cup Coverage, Just Wait to see how we do it for the Olympics" AD, I have no more ads.

I have been missing them! But with this situation I don't think I'll turn them back on.

Sheesh, even drug dealers know not to kill too many of their clients off.

Please let both of those entities know, or rather the ad agency, that they are living up to the not so favorable impression some have of them.

Now when I pass a Dick's "Warehouse of Crap" Store, I'll think how they've expanded into internet virus's.

And NBC/Universal? - well I guess "30 Rock" may actually be a reality show after all. Who knew till this ad popped up?

FWIW, I don't think this was the intention of the ad - To fill up the screen and block someone from logging in.

I believe its a glitch that's making it act wonky.

When I was seeing the Dicks ad, it never expanded or made any annoying issues pop up.

I've contacted the folks that I report to at MNC and am waiting to hear back.  Since this is the first time we've had an issue like this since the change over, I'm still working out how to move it along.

I'll let you all know when we get it figured out.

Agree that it is very very very annoying...

Sorry folks, this is the first time we've had to deal with this kind of ad issue since MNC took the reins in January so I was unfamiliar with the person to contact for this kind of thing.

Good news, I got the right person this morning at 5:45 AM and they are on it.  If the ad isn't gone now, it should be soon. :yahoo:

Thanks for bearing with me while I sorted it out.

I've heard from "the team" that the broken, and Incredibly Annoying Pop AD has been eliminated.

Thumbs Up

Yea! By Jove I think you've got it.

Thanks for working that out!
