Volkl Vertigo Motion vs T50 Supersport 5 Star Motion

I can get a good deal on either of these skis, but am stuck on which is the one for me. I like to ski the entire mountain, including moguls and ungroomed, but also ski groomed trail as a patroller. I'm 140lbs, and an expert skiier. High speed isn't a huge issue for me. Has anyone skied both of these models and formed a preference? They both seem pretty impressive!

It sounds to me like you are looking for the one pair do-all ski; I would select the Vertigos. If you could justify a pair of G4's and T-50 SS's, then I'd say you have (most) conditions covered.

The t-50 ***** and the **** are easier to turn at slower speeds than the vertigo especialy the **** for what help it is

I had to make the same choice this year. I took the Vertigos for more deep snow versatility. They are kind of wimpy on hard pack. Most of the patrollers where I am (in theEast) seemed to take the 5 Stars. I'm still not sure I made the right choice.

There is, in my opinion, a world of difference between the 5 Star and the Vertigo Motion. The 5 Star is a much stiffer and beefier feeling ski than the Vertigo Motion. The Vertigo is a more relaxed feeling ski. It is easier to ski in rough snow than the 5 Star as long as it is kept at a reasonable speed. The 5 Star is more stable at speed. I think that for the conditions you have described you would probably be happier with the Vertigo.

Thnaks all. I think I am leaning more toward the Vertigo (sounds like there isn't much of a supply of the T50's anyway). What size would folks recommend for a 5'9" 140lb expert who has been skiing on 195cm Elan Comprex S skis (from 1989!!!).

For your height, weight, and skiing experience I would suggest the 177.....170 would also be OK but not quite as stable at speed and not as much float in soft snow.
