Yeah after Lanzinger's crash they changed rules quite a bit. Before it was ok if you had some sort of medics there (medic on duty in Kvitfjel was some general doctor not surgeon or something more specialied, and scared like hell he won't do something wrong, so he basically didn't do anything except pack him, put him on chopper and fly him to Lillehamer or Oslo... don't remember where exactly), and if any sort of helicopter was ready it was just a plus, but not necessary. And this cost Lanzinger his leg. After that, they changed rules so now, medical equipped helicopter must be there and there has to be trauma doctor on spot, preferably more then one. But this is for World cup, and if I remember right, Europa cup or even lower ranked races don't have such regulations. If I understood right, this with Lindsey was even during training session and not race, which means there's even less people and equipment around. But at least for races, they fly choppers almost for everything, because they don't want to risk anything anymore. And I'm happy about this. Few $1000 is not that much of money, if you can save someone's leg (like in Lanzinger's case) and not screw up his life forever.
Based on few discussions I had last night and today morning (yes noone knows anything more yet), most of physios and doctors think, she wasn't really 100% ready for this, and she started too early after so bad injury she had, so when she went full out to see how it goes with only few days to her race, and things didn't work out yet as they should. I still hope it's nothing much and she will be ok, but at least that what I heard, didn't sound all too good. Well let's wait for something official and hope for the best.
