Armada Norwalk length dilemma

Thread Starter
I'm looking at the Armada Norwalk and not sure what length to get.

At 5'9, 153 lbs, I'm not a big guy, but I ski hard and tend to go fast, even drop small stuff.  I mostly ski in Tahoe where there are some trees and things tend to get bumped up quite a bit as well.  Currently on deep days I ski a 181 Lib Tech Pow NAS and think it's the right length for me.  It's stable at speed but doesn't get away from me or have a mind of it's own when I get in the backseat.  It just has crap edge hold, which is why I'm looking at the Norwalk.

My question is do I go with a 179 or 189 Norwalk?  I know the Norwalk is easy to turn and "skis short", but 189 seems really long.  I was on skis that were too long for me for a few years a while back, and don't want to fall into that again.

Appreciate any advice!

you are buying a 115/6 mm wide ski for edgehold?

Finn, to be sure, I don't expect this ski to have race performance on hardpack.  I'd be buying it for soft snow performance, with the hope that it would also give me decent grip on firm snow, whereas my current fat skis just totally slide out.  In Tahoe, even on days where there is a lot of soft stuff to be found, you end up needing some edges a decent amount as well.

179 for sure.

These are about 2 cm shorter than the stated measurement. So the 179 is a 177. That said, agree with Whiteroom. It's a beefier ski than the TST, apparently.
