Somebody's getting serous- pic from last weekend:

Had no idea DPS was working on a Slalom Ski.

Thickest edges I've ever seen esp on a slalom.

Sure its not the 85?

Seems to be more of that width but it's hard to tell. Tips seem too large for a slalom ski.

also looks to have rockered tips, not sure how that would translate to a good SL ski but hey I'm in NJ.

So let's see: Huge rockered tips, 1/4" wide edges, and 80 something underfoot.

yep...sounds like a slalom ski.

The spy is a little short on information here.

They didn't either.

All I may say is that it is a 'skunk workz' ski from Marshall.

Will it be out this year?

Ditto that!

This looks like a ski I would love to try out.

Demos in Jackson Hole?  That'll probably be the day.  Alternatively, maybe they'll have some demos at the Snowbasin retailers event?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Or you guys just suck at google:

(not that I'd really call an 80mm waist ski a SL ski...)

well I'm glad to see we don't "suck at google" that badly...:)

Available '14 though?

Still, it's a "fat slalom" ?

"Slalomesque" as opposed to the DPS usual "Rubenesque"?

I just took the time to build a product page for this ski.  In the process of digging up any information on it that I could, I checked our own database and found significant similarities between the Cassiar 80 SL and the Cassiar 80 Pure.

It almost looks like they tweaked the Cassiar 80 Pure to refine it into their version of an SL ski.

These are the specs from the DPS Site.

The Cassiar 80SL is a true race carver with a 11.5m radius sidecut, and the only prepreg carbon fiber shape of its kind on earth. If you enjoy training early season with deep g-loaded carves, or appreciate elite race skis, get ready for carving geometry mated with the lightest, most powerful ski construction ever made. The Cassiar 80SL exhibits new levels of quickness and power as it moves under your body in lightning fast transitions and unmatched rebound and edge grip. If we weren't as obsessed with deep snow, we would push the SL onto the World Cup –it’s a high tech Ferrariesque tool.

Dimensions: 127/78/113

Sizes: 166 cm

Turning Radius: 11.5 m

Weight: 1350 grams per ski

Tip Rocker Length: 170 mm

Tail Rocker Length: 100 mm

Running Length: 1470 mm

Made in the U.S.A at the DPS Utah Factory
