Hose heat vs oven for liner molding

Thread Starter

I am heat molding a Garmont Prophet telemark boot liner.  I want to use a hose method to heat the liner in the boot, even though the oven method is recommended.  Are there any pitfalls or problems that makes this a bad idea?  Also, I have Superfeet green footbeds - can I leave them in the boot when heating, or do they have to be removed and attached to my foot?

the oven gives more heat=better mould, it really depends on how close the fit is to your foot, normally we use an oven for this style of liner then use toe caps and pressure padding on prominent bones for the moiling process

footbeds need to be out the boot during the heating, you WILL fry them whatever heater you use if they are left in
