Per their facebook:

"Got rock skis? You might need some tomorrow! Set your alarms for 5:30am to find out if we're opening the Gondola and Green Valley. Management is going up at 4:30am to assess overnight snowfall and make the call. Pack your gear now and be ready to jump out of bed, or roll over and go back to sleep.... Sweet dreams!"

With a foot forecast overnight, could be a fun (and very crowded) Saturday.

KING 5 had a reporter at Stevens that said that they may open tomorrow.  I don't think so, though they've had 9" of new so far today and it's dumping 2" an hour according to telemetry at the highway.  Baker is at 14" of new and going at 1" an hour currently.  Needs another good dump after this one in my estimation before they really open up, but what do I know?

Crystal was surprisingly good and not too crowded yesterday. Snow was thin, but good quality with untracked and then good packed powder. I managed to avoid big damage to my rock skis, others did not fare as well. One crew member blew an edge out.

Lines at Green Valley chair were around 10 minutes at peak, and most people including our crew bailed out by noon. Smallest opening day crowd in three years, the A parking lot was about 3/4's filled. Today should be good skiing, with 3 inches of new. Let's see how the snow level goes over the next couple of days. If it stays lower Wednesday could be really good when they reopen.

Stevens opened yesterday (Saturday) from 12-4, today from 9-4. $20 tix, so while I'm waiting for my instructor pass, it was too tempting to pass up. Only Hogsback and Daisy were open, nothing was groomed, from Hogsback everything other than Rock n blue was roped off as unpatrolled. Lots of lumpy bumpy terrain and heavy snow.

But still fun.

Thanks for the updates.  I may be heading toward Stevens on Monday and could ski Tuesday, depending on the Weather.  Heavy snow is good snow right now. Consolidation is key.
