Helmet fitting question

I never wore a helmet skiing before. After trying some on, I puchased my Smith Varient Brimless helmet online. I ASSUME it fits correctly, after adjusting the rear knob,  the brim tops just above my eyebrows, which I read is correct. I bought the medium, the small was very tight. Yet when I put on my 13 years old Smith goggles, they are smashed down covering my entire nose, only exposing my nostrils. To make this comfortable, I must raise the brim of the helmet.  Does this mean the helmet is the wrong size? Could it be the goggles? Or both? Unfortunately I bought the helmet last fall and haven't had the chance to use it. It is still in the box. So I am out the money if it is the incorrect size.

Some people bring their goggles with them when trying on new helmets, but your 15 yr old goggles weren't really designed with helmets in mind. I have a couple pair of goggles and some just fit better than others. It might be a good time to upgrade them as well ... and bring the helmet with you to test fit ... :)

Agreed!  I wanted to buy goggles online too, yet will bring my helmet to a store that sells the goggles I want. And now that you mentioned it, I don't remember seeing helmets back in the late 90s, early 2Ks.

By the way, buying the same brand as the helmet is no guarantee. Always bring the second item along and bring to the store and buy at least one of the two things from the store.

Quoted for truth.
