Anything is possible. Some things are improbable. A melee anywhere involving three people in which one person goes to the hospital and the Federal police response is "kids will be kids" is in the very improbable range. Some interesting studies on how unreliable eyewitnesses are at crime scenes. Seeing things they imagine vs. what happened. Based on the police and ski patrol actions, they viewed the event very differently than one of the eye witnesses.
I realize a members friends took a beating and that sucks, but we don't really lock people up for fist fights in canada. There was an argument before hand and a third party jumped in, i'm not sure where you live but I know several law enforcement officers and i've never heard of a similar situation resulting in legal action. A fist fight preceded by an argument, sounds like tuesday in small town canada. Again, not defending the boarder and I don't know what was said but it's improbable anything would come of it if legal action was pursued.
