We'll take both here.
Helped cut/clear a new ski trail today - Mt. Crescent, Iowa - Page 10
I had a great time skiing Mt. Crescent today. Everyone there was very friendly and the snow felt great. I hope to post some pictures when I get them off of my phone. A big thank you to Midwest Pete. I'll have to go back again to ski the new trail you cut.
One of my Christmas presents was the dvd "United We Ski" by t-bar films. Great film, but I don't think it would be too popular with Kip Topperud.
It's about small feeder areas -- no mega resorts. Really a fun film to watch.
Like to see it, never seen any film on ski hills. Nope, i don't think 'ole copperhead would approve. Not enough "amenities" at them thar mom and pop hills.
The dvd only costs around $10.
Dec. 28, 2013
60 degrees when I left the hill today. Tomorrow's high is forecasted to be about 10 degrees.
That's quite the temperature swing! Any snow coming with it?
I don't even watch the weather on TV - it's wrong a lot. Supposedly this entire week was supposed to be in the 20s -- they were only 40 degrees off.
I think I heard mention of a little snow.
I sort of figured it was a nickname for the beast and would show up on a photo....nope, got the website instead.
Finally, I made it to the hill for a short session today before the snow turned mushy. It felt good to shake some rust off.
Just went to the mailbox, and the weather has switched back to winter. I think that is why we have so many thunderstorms and tornadoes in the spring -- we really get some huge temperature swings.
The wind is really howling now from the North as winter is blowing back in.
In the background is that an actual Tucker Sno-Cat mounted on a pole, or a model? Hard to tell from a picture.. I want one.
Yes, it is an actual Tucker Sno-Cat mounted on a pole.
