4 vents (inner and outer leg) with mesh backing
20K rating on waterproof and breathability
Lots of pockets (7)
It was a shell, no insulation. That's a good thing.
I have been to lots of stores and every website I know but I always run into something the pants lack. Some very expensive pants ($400+) have vents with no mesh backing. You can't convince me that's a good idea, sorry.
I've become an expert on ski pants in the last 2 weeks. I can count on one hand the number of models with 4 vents on them and not all of those are meshed. Interestingly, as the price goes up, the color options decrease, often it's a choice between black and something mid-bogglingly ugly.
Color-wise I'd love a dark green or brown, but dark grey is ok. It's gotta have 4 pockets on the front. Spring skiing, people! I've got crap to carry! Also, a loose fit is preferred. The Burton Vent model looked pretty good for the price but the fit is surprisingly tight.
The most acceptable thing I've got at the moment is the Mammut Freerider pant. Only 2 vents but they are big. Gore Tex is only 2 layer but everything else looks good.
I don't expect anyone to come up with anything but I thought I'd try. Yeah, I know, I'm a little nuts but I want what I want.
