AT boots with walk mode size 31.5

Hi

I'm having a really hard time finding any AT boots with hike mode in a size 31.5. Does anyone know of any boots that meet this criteria? Going to use the boots with Duke's so no Dynafit soles.

thanks for the input

I wear a 30.5 and use the Scarpa Maestrale RS (and love them).  The Scarpa website shows sizing up to a 33.  The soles are rockered vibram and I ski them in Dukes, but the boots are also Dynafit compatible if you ever decide to go that route.

Cool, I had not thought about Scarpa. I will look at those. Thanks.

Have you had any issues with release from the bindings, given the heavy rubber sole?

No problems whatsoever.  I've only used them in the Dukes so for though, and have NOT tried using them however in a binding that doesn't accommodate the taller toe height associated with the rockered boot.

Do you really want an AT boot, or do you want an alpine boot with a hike feature. The reason for the question is that we seldom see someone with a Duke using a true AT boot. If in fact you do want a real AT boot to use with a Duke binding, then the Scarpa is as good a choice as any.

Thanks for the the reply. I spoke with a few boot guys and was informed the Maestrale RS will not be stiff enough for me (250lbs). Today I pulled the trigger on a pair 2012 Fischer Soma Ranger 12 in 31.5 closeouts.

I was not certain if I wanted a true AT boot like the Maestrale or an alpine boot with hike feature. We'll see how this season goes.

Well......you got an alpine boot with a walk feature so here's hoping it'll do what you want it to.

Nice find -- congrats!

FWIW, when I was trying on boots last year, my intent was to get an alpine boot with a walk feature, and ended up buying the Maestrale RS (much to my surprise) BECAUSE of its stiffness and fit. (I found the Technic Cochise  and Scarpa Mobe to be a little bit stiffer, but most everything else I tried was a step down in that department.)  I'm also 250#, have 25+ days with these boots last season skiing all conditions, and they impressed me enough that I'm setting up my dedicated frontside skis with bindings to accommodate these boots so I can ski them everywhere.

The Fischer's are really stiff, maybe too much for me given my experience level (15 year knuckledragger who is getting serious about 2-plankin)

Also, I'm disapointed in how much mobility the "hike" mode offers. It offers about as much movement as my alpine hardshell snowboard boots did when they were locked down...which was not very much. I'll ski these this season and maybe next year try some Maestrale or the Vulcan.
