Nakiska/Sunshine/Lake louise this weekend?

Nakiska already open, the other two should be. Will Sunshine (my preferred resort) have enough open/be interesting enough this weekend?

I thought people are still boycotting Sunshine for firing those patrollers... why not ski the other mountains instead?

Nakiska was ok yesterday (one run open with suspicious bumps camouflaged as powder packs plus bad visibility) and I heard they had a big snow today too. As long as the temperature keeps low it could be promising. Sunshine looks good from webcam, but not so sure about Lake Louise because the temperature has always been high for some reason...almost feel bad for the owner...

Boycotting? Didn't like the terrain of Sunshine too much anyways. Constantly a uphill following a run kinda turns me off.

It sounds as though Louise is usually WROD territory on opening day. Will either do naksika or sunshine I think.

Louise puts lots of snowmaking energy into the world cup - not much goes into other runs except Wiwaxy.  Unfortunately, not a lot of natural snow has fallen at the Lake.

Nakiska's Mapmaker is usually  much more substantial skiing early season than the  Lake. It wasn't too bad last Saturday for a first day - skied 20 runs - about 30k feet elevation.  But if that remains the only ski option, I'll do other things (Nordic or snowshoe)  after a while.

Sunshine seems to still need more snow, since they don't have much snowmaking capacity.  I hope they don't open with too little coverage.

I don't really care about the "boycott".  I know people on both sides, have heard both sides of the "story", and feel bad about the mess.  However, there are still good folks working at Sunshine who have nothing to do with it, and I like some of the terrain.

Sunshine is definitely not going to open on Friday. They announced on Twitter and Facebook that the opening date is going to be pushed back at least a week or two. Louise is still (as of today) claiming that they're going to open on Nov 8 with limited terrain. From the webcams, I suspect it will be strictly WROD.

MXF

Notice the grass to viewers right of the lift.  Looks like the snowguns are going for public runs.  with the forecast for the week, the Lake will probably open.  Nakiaska is also blowing and will probably have at least two runs open by the 8th.
