Is anyone headed to Copper this weekend? weve been to Loveland the last two weekends, think we will change it up. plus i need to start gaining some ground on those season passes...lol. the american eagle lift will be open plus the easy rider beginners area. theres a possibility for some more runs to open with the snowfall over the next few days. were probably going sunday.

Planning to go up for a while Sunday morning. Hoping for a couple of runs open off of Eagle to keep the crowds and race teams dispersed.

Their site says to expect a 'Cash Cab' style quiz on the lifts so you may win some swag.

The answer is 'The Thick n Thin Lumber Co'.

I think I'll wait till the crowd thins itself out by attrition.

Just got back from Copper...snowed all day!  No lift lines but the couple trails they had open were pretty congested...snowboarder ran into me near the top but he bounced off harmlessly..

Sorry about your experience Abox. The crowding Friday (opening day) was lighter than normal probably because they had enough snow to open Ptarmigan, a first as I understand it. The skiing was pretty darn good -- better than it was before January las year. I'm headed up for more in an hour!

Much less crowded than a normal opening weekend... only a few minute wait in the eagle line and the usual group of overeager, underskilled people bombing down the runs... still a fun day and just keep your head n a swivel and time the waves.

Wasn't nearly as good today as Friday, but it was still pretty good for day 3 of the season.  Snow is predicted to start tonight and last into Tues/Wed.  I'll be back on Tuesday!

The snow was nice up top down about halfway on main vein it started to get pretty icey where the boarders were scraping it clean. If you could stay in the chopped up stuff it was a pretty nice ride down. All in alm it was still a great day on the mountain. Even though it was crowded on piste the lift lines were very fast. We had fun.
