Ha!  Yeah me too.  Just had the first snow of the season yesterday.  It's going to melt in the coming week here but some should stick in the mountains.  On schedule for normal opening times I think, if not a bit early this year. :)

Did Summerhaven rebuild successfully after the fire that wiped it out about a decade ago? I used to go mtb'ing up there when I got sick of the heat in the valley.

Depends on what you mean by "successfully".  There's a small town there now, not sure what was there before the fire.

Bring your rock skis or rent.  ~ 12" of snow and ~16" rocks.

Lemmon is the Mad River Glen of the Southwest.  You just ski it to say you did.

The place is really cool actually.  Its a bit longer of a drive from Phoenix than Snowbowl but its worth it. We went last year in Jan with the family on a Sunday morning and there were hardly any people there. It was a great time and dirt cheap.  Just the fact that its there is pretty cool.  The farthest southern ski lift in the northern hemisphere I believe.
