I skied the skis for one day a few weeks ago but they were really warm conditions. My wife and I had a few vouchers that we needed to use so we took a short ski trip.

Friday I skied at Sugarloaf, Maine. The conditions were rock hard and variable with corn depending on the run. I missed Thursday which I heard was warm and beatiful and then it froze overnight. The XI's did better then I thought on hardpack and ice. The shovels are definately softer then most Atomics but they handle turn initiation even on ice. I am still getting the feel for the skis and I had the tails skid out multiple times.

I skied on Gondi Line which is a fun steep run and White Nitro which is a short steep run. The skis did awesome and I never fealt wobbily even at higher speeds on uneven conditions.

The bumps were alittle too deep and hard for me to venture into as I didn't want to hurt myself or my gear. The skis do well on ice for a wide softer midfat.

Today we skied at Bretton Woods, NH as we had to use vouchers and they are expecting rain next week so I figured it was now or never. I used to love Bretton Woods when I was a beginner but now it is very flat and boring especially when you can't jump into the trees.

The conditions were manmade, dirt, ice, hardpack, packed powder, and everything in between. The skis handled it all and excelled at powder stashes and light crud although the tips get tossed. I finally got a chance to go fast on some groomers and the skis fealt great. Not as stable as last years R11s but pretty good overall.

The skis are more lively then the old R series which makes them more versatile and fun for me. The shovel and tails are softer but the rest of the ski is still solid with good edgehold. I think I will really enjoy these skis for a few years until the next best things come out.
