Relatively Low Instep Back/Side Country Boots?

I'm looking for some back/side country boots (walk mode with decent range of motion, shock absorption, grippy sole, around 120 flex, not too heavy, these are not absolutely necessities but nice to have) that have relatively low instep height. I'm a size 28/28.5 (tried some 27/27.5 but I need to curl my toes to barely fit in them so I would assume they are too short...I don't know if liners can be stretched lengthwise...) and the last of my feet measures about 102 for both. I also have very flat arches too... I tried the Lange XT 130 but the instep are still a bit too high. The Salomon Quest Max 130's instep actually feels pretty nice but I could use a few other models for comparison. I'm also considering the Salomon Quest BC 120, Dalbello Lupo SP, KR 2 Pro, or Black Diamond Factor 130 or any other models you guys may suggest. Please comment on my selections and any suggestion is appreciated!

BTW, was thinking of Atomic Waymaker Carbon 130 but couldn't find one. The Waymaker 100 was too high so unless the fit of Carbon is very different...Nordica Patron was a bit too tight all around. Was thinking of Cochise but I heard all Technicas are famous for high insteps...Tried Dalbello KR 2 Fusion and the instep was about the same as the Lange XT 130

Well I would certainly try the Scarpa Maestrale RS, but I wonder if there isn't a problem with your methods.  Many of the boots you are or will be trying on have moldable liners that should feel short before they are molded.  You need the experience of a boot fitter to determine length.  Your foot feel when trying these liners isn't sufficient.

It sounds to me as if you are skipping the shell fit part and unfortunately it is absolutely essential to getting the right.

what Lou said.   What is the shell fit like in the 27's?   My guess is you will be fine in them..

Thanks both of you! I shell fitted again and the one I thought was 27 was actually a 26, with barely anything behind my ankles. The 27 fits perfectly fine with about 1 finger in the back.
