Looks like Killington is going to claim first turns in the east again this year.

4:41 p.m. 10/23/13-- We told you it was game time, and we're not just playing. Killington Resort will open for Season Pass and Express Card holders for an exclusive day of early season skiing and riding on Friday, October 25, 2013. Way to be, passholders. Come get some turns with us!

Never fear, skiers and riders - we're so excited that we just can't hide it, and the plan is to open up for the public on Saturday, October 26, 2013.

I just assumed it would be like last year where they opened for a day or two then shut back down but I don't see anything saying just this weekend.  I also don't see anything saying they will remain open, just "as conditions permit."

Any Bears at Killington today?

I'm holding it down at the base.

Post race refreshment - enjoying the increased vibes from skiers everywhere converging on Vermont!

Skiing required walking on the catwalk & I'm a snob at my age!! Too much going in still to dive into the limited terrain, yet the area / town is hopping & were thrilled to see all our friends again!

It looks great up there.  I am glad to see the east coast off to a good start.  Sunday River opened today as well.

I was there yesterday and it was great.  Had a lot of fun.  Stair climb was required and that got my attention.  I made it with minimal complaining.  I am glad I was able to go.

You are a better man than I, no stairs for me!

Killington putting in the effort to make a positive image & presence. Their new groomer & sleds were features in the area Halloween parade just moments ago.

More positive reports of good snow, yet a bottleneck of unfit skiers & riders jammed the walkway to the top for downloading.

Updated 9:30 a.m. 10/27/13--The snowmakers are still blowing snow and blowing our minds. We've evaluated the snow conditions, and it's looking good. So good, we'll be able to remain open daily moving forward.

For Sunday, the K-1 Express Gondola will provide uploading and downloading from 8:00 a.m-3:30 p.m. Skiers and riders will use the Peak Walkway to get back to the K-1 Express Gondola for downloading back to the base area.

Great Northern will be open providing access to up to five runs in the North Ridge area. Check out the three park features on Reason. Plus, we're building base depths and opening new trails as we can.

Early season conditions exist. Skiing and riding will be on advanced terrain only and snowmaking may be in progress throughout the day. No easier terrain will be available at this time.

For Monday through Friday, lifts will spin 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for uploading. Check back right here for updates and we'll see you out there!
