Hot Gear Classic boot bag for flying?

Has anyone had any issues trying to carry on a Hot Gear Classic bag?  I've searched and found some were able to carry it on. Seems on the large size for what may be acceptable. It's definitely larger than what the airlines say is allowable, but that doesn't usually matter.

Alternatively, I've thought about removing the heating pad and using it in my Transpack since I know I can fly with that. Not sure if I'd end up starting a fire that way.

I've used mine quite a bit.  If you stuff it full, it will be way over the allowable size. But you don't have to stuff it and I haven't had any gate agents enforcing the size lately.

It also really depends on what type of aircraft you'll be flying.  On RJ's I always gate check.  I also have priority boarding, so on newer aircraft with large bins, it's usually not a big deal.

Sometimes I fly on a buddy pass, on which I'm the last guy on the plane. In that case or if I had a tight connection.  I'd make sure not to stuff it so full it wouldn't fit under the seat.

I've flown with mine a few times.  I've played the game where I've taken stuff out of it to get it through the scanners easily and then re-stuffed it afterward.  It fits in the overhead bins as long as you don't have your helmet on top.
