Mount Bohemia is forecasting a Dec. 21 opening date! Snowfall is in the forecast. Depending on conditions, anyone interested in making the trek?

I can note it on a bucket list but its 9 1/2 hrs for me ... another 3 puts me in summit or Steamboat.

however I love the idea.  locally, I do hope to hit Wausau as it's 1/2 the time ...

love the idea though

Looks like Bohemia will open a week earlier, the 14th now! This is looking like it will be a good snow year! Any takers for the weekend of the 21st, pending conditions?

Anyone interested for this weekend?

Wish I could make it but can't.  I did see some reports that the crowds there on Saturday were some of the biggest they've ever had.   Then sunday they got 12" of snow...

Yeah, last weekend would have been a phenomenal time to ski! I'm also planning on skiing Bohemia either the weekend of 1/4 or 1/11, let me know if you'd like to ski Bohemia either of those weekends.

Will be driving up from St Paul Friday evening, anyone else interested? Looks like Saturday could be a powder day!

I'll be heading up to Bohemia after work on Friday Jan 31st. I plan on skiing on Saturday, spending the nigh,t and leaving on Sunday. I live in Wisconsin so carpooling probably won't work but I'm looking for people to split a cheap hotel with (the hostel is booked). If anyone wants to join let me know.

Not quite Minneapolis, but if you're around Chicago/Milwaukee area, I'm always down for a trip, weekday or weekend.

Leaving from the western burbs of Chicago and traveling up 294/94/43, with the ability to pick up in the northern burbs and Milwaukee area. I have a rack on top for skis or boards with a SUV, so plenty of room for gear.

First trip leaves this Sunday, tomorrow on 1/26. We leave late at night so we arrive when the hill is opening to ski the whole day. Generally 2-3 day trips. Help pay for gas and come enjoy the snow. I'm always down for a trip, so shoot an email if you want to try to catch a powder day but no car, I've got the ride.

Do the snow dance.

Any Trip Reports coming out of Mt Bohemia?

With the snow coverage the skiing should be Epic!

I visited last weekend and late December.  Short story, the snow is certainly epic, with plenty of fresh lines to be found.

Thinking about making the trek to Bohemia next weekend, anyone interested?

A new season, and still taking trips, so anyone interested, feel free to shoot me an email...  Always watching the snow so trips can be short notice.  We have established a small list of people that enjoy the freshies and sharing rides.  Suggest a day/trip or just get a notification when others are driving.  Just a few dudes that love the snow and prefer to carpool.  Some from MN, more from WI/IL Chicagoland to Green Bay.

If your still making weekend trips to UP and have room. I'm interested in joining the carpool.

Anyone going to Bohemia this weekend is going to get dumped on. They have an excellent lake effect cycle going on right now. Have fun.

Fortunately/unfortunately, as the Packers are still in the playoffs, I have to abstain for their game on Sunday.

If interested, please send me an email at the address listed above, and I will add you to the list for any future trips.

I was up there the weekend of the 9th, great snow and very good coverage for this time of the year.  Granted it put down a good foot before I got there, and another foot after arriving, but Bohemia tends to do that...  Enough snow to huck a few spots, that's for sure ;)

Get the German beer too

NWS shows HUGE winds and 3-6" tonight and tomorrow.  Should be excellent on Sunday and Monday.

Mt. Bohemia did receive 6" or so of fresh snow on Tuesday/Wednesday. However, lift closed at 2pm due to high winds. They genuinely try to keep it open as long as it is safe. Although this place is behind on their natural snowfall average for the year (about 200" so far) - it is good snow all over the place and nice boot high fluffy powder after the night of light snowfall. If you are a winter outdoor enthusiast (downhill skiing, nordic, sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, "snow angel" making...) this place is absolutely the "must see and visit". Keweenaw peninsula is truly a "winter wonderland".

Mt. Bohemia to Chicago = 8hrs drive time with 3 quick stops and blowing lake effect snow around the Lake Superior snow band. Closer to Wisconsin - snow cover diminishes.

I apologize to Minnesota skiers for referencing Chicago - this is mostly for other "Midwesterners" that might be following this thread.
