Volkl Shiro Jr skis for a small woman...?

Hi,

I have an opportunity to buy a pair of 163 Volkl Shiro Jrs for my wife. She's an ex-racer, 47 and very strong. Excellent skier. 5'1" and around 114lbs. Currently skiing a 158cm 2006 Rossi B2 all over the mountain. We are in northern Japan and there is a ton of snow every season.

Would this ski work for her?

Hi!

Thanks for your mail. Would you say it is as good as any of the ladies specific models? Would there be any downside to running with the Jr model?

Just bought a pair for my wife!

Any thoughts on mounting point? I have been all over the web and have read all sorts for men ranging from 0 - +5. She's a great skier but isn't remotely interested in the park, doing tricks or going for big air. These will probably end up retiring her B2s as daily drivers in Hokkaido powder and the groomers leading to it.

I was contemplating +2.5 using the reasoning that women generally mount +1 anyway and then added +1.5 to enjoy that nice balance point people are writing about. +1.5 is where I am thinking of mounting my 183 Shiros as well.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated (^_^)
