My girlfriend finally wants to upgrade her 10 year old Fischer World Cup RC-4's from her High School racing days in Northern VT. She is moving away from ripping up the mountain like a GS run and likes hitting the bumps and trees more with me.
She is 5' 6", weighs 130 and is expert level, IMO. She has been skiing since she was 3 and just destroys me on the slopes (it would be embarrassing if it wasn't so awesome). We were in Tahoe last spring and she demo'ed the Line Soulmate's (98 waist). We had a very Eastern like day at Heavenly since they hadn't gotten snow in a month. She rode the Soulmate's like a fine tuned German Sports car; I think they are what she should be looking at (I love the Prophet 98's, so biased).
She's also looking at the Blizzard Black Pearl and Volkl Kenja's. We ski almost exclusively in VT and NH, with a trip out west every couple of years. She wants to be able to rip like she can in race skis, but also have the response and flex needed for bumps and trees. It's hard to find a ski that can do both things awesome and not just good.
What do you all recommend? I'd love to here from other women on the forum who are similar in ability. Also, she hates the graphics on most women's skis....she prefers the look of men's skis.
