A legit foot at Mary Jane today. Full on powder day. The Jane is such a fantastic tree skiing mountain after the beetle kill and tree removal... and the addition of eagle wind a while back. It was good before, but it's just great now. Did a few soft bumps, but it was mostly pow seeking in the trees.
The lower east facing runs like the chutes and topher's were surprisingly great today, but got heavy at the end. The north facing trees remained powder and should still have nice soft leftovers tomorrow.
This is one of the most debated topics whilst riding EW. I contend that the skiing was better pre-EW, though much more convenient now. Pow used to last for days back there. In order to ski a lap one had to traverse all the way to Pioneer, down to Hi-Lo, back to Timberline then traverse to the Backside. It's good now, but it used to be great.
Also, if you want cred from me, just mention a MJ pow day.... it's pretty much automatic =)
