I wouldn't worry about getting up there Monday. Traffic looks like clear sailing right now (7a Sunday), same as it did yesterday. Getting back through Idaho Springs will be a mess. With Loveland Pass open and no metering at the tunnel, 40 will be a choke point, and a big test for the new bore. WAG, I'd say bad but tolerable.
I'd make the call based on an updated wind forecast late tonight or early tomorrow. Looks like the upper lifts will probably be shut down at the Jane again today. If they open up tomorrow the upper mountain will be sweet! If it's gonna be windy again, head to Copper.
WP has been a disaster two Saturday's in a row for wind. Anyone know why Copper is able to keep the lifts spinning in crazy wind, while many other areas shut them down? Yeah, they have more slow lifts, but they also just seem more aggressive in letting everything run.
It's interesting, the new bore seems to be providing relief mostly after Downieville.
I thought same thing last two Fridays at Copper - I think two seat fixed chairs just don't have the swing risk? Although I was loading Rendevous with my two younger kids and the wind flipped up the seat coming in and we had some fun with that (Sophie's Choice for Dad )
The kids want to ski Copper, WP is running everything today, so will probably make that call. A long ride home after a big day on a new to them mountain isn't the worst thing...
