sorry if this is a re-post... but I've just saw a pretty good post on wildsnow about the new bd pack, it looks pretty nice and rumors say that arcteryx might be coming with something similar!

I like the idea of these.  I've got a Mammut R.A.S. bag right now.  It is definitely going to be usable for a few more years for me.  Like any first year product, I am sure there will be kinks.  Probably not in the safety part of the design, but the little things.  It would be nice if you could fly with it.  At this time I have to either ship my canister to my destination, or fly with it empty and fill it when I arrive.  Which is not very convenient to do.

I think the comment about no canister bags in 24 months was a little aggressive... don't think companies will move that soon, specially companies that don't have a great tech background and before this becomes some sort of OEM thing.
