Volkl Kendo vs. Line Prophet 90

You would think these would be similar skis... anyone skied both of them (2013 or 2014 models)?  How do they compare?  THX

Uh, no. I have not skied the recent versions of either, but the earlier models where about as different as you could find. Kendo was beefier, preferred higher speeds and more aggressive input, far better on ice. Maybe a touch quicker. All business. Prophet was more moderate flex, felt a touch slower edge to edge, better in bumps and soft snow, better for messing around. They may have converged, but I doubt it could be that much.

Beyond -- thanks. I've demo'ed the new (2013) Kendo, and so was using that as my yardstick to get some intel on the Prophet. The Kendo didn't feel "beefy" to me, but of course I haven't demo'ed a lot of skis.

Everyone is gonna have a different opinion.  I didn't find the Kendo beefy either but I weight 250.  Everything I read about the Prophet suggests it is softer than the Kendo.  I really liked the Kendo and bought a pair.  I skied it in varying conditions that weren't the best and it felt better than  anything else I had ever skied.  It did well in crud, ice, the bumps, and powder.  I don't ski enough to warrant owning several pairs of skis so this will be my all mountain ski.  I live in the East and will rent if I go out West.
