Simple example,high cost resorts can hire more labor and at high wages to better service their guest. All resorts nearby would have increase wages just to stay at par or run the risk that they would loose more customers.

 

 

Fact: this happens and continues in the high tech markets, some engineering disciplines get higher wages than others due to this type of supply and demand.
