As seen in other thread started by Trekchick, the guy that actually skied all 26 (27) resorts might end up getting nothing. Can somebody explain the fact that visits to closed NA resorts would count but at the same time everybody has to wait for some gondola to open on the 21st ?
Can you imagine when 100+ people show up at the French resort on 21st (Saturday) along with thousands of British vacationers. Great marketing, big mess in the making.
I am rooting for Hydle guy, although he lost some of his "mojo" in latest video posts.
I might be wrong, but I think credit was only given at 1 closed NA resort (Kirkwood) that was suppose to be open, but the lifts were not running due to high winds. Speculation, but maybe the thinking was to give a break to guys that had made travel plans ahead of time so they didn't have to get hit with change fees, etc. With the closed Euro resorts, everyone knew they would be closed and wouldn't count until opening.
It certainly appears that they will have more than 10 showing up at the last resort to open, so it will be interesting to see what counts as being ahead of someone else (particularly if 9th-12th were all on the same chair/gondola or if some are waiting on a lift that opens a few minutes late or early).
Edit- Found this https://epicrace.epicpass.com/pages/support...so it seems the first to summit their visit (including photos/videos) wins...a smart phone with good cell coverage at the last resort seems key.
- How does the leaderboard work?
The leaderboard ranks racers first by the number of resorts they have visited, and second by the time stamp of the submission of their most recent resort. For example, if you and another racer both visit your last resort (#26) on the same day, the first one to submit their resort content will be ahead in the standings, no matter if they were ahead or behind the other racer after resort #25.
- I can’t access one of the locations on the list. Can I just take a photo/video at a location of my choosing?
No, the photos and videos you capture must be at the locations on the resort list. If the mountain or parts of the mountain are closed due to weather and this prevents you from accessing at least 3 of the locations on the list, please send us an email at email@example.com
