We are in Rhode Island, and I am trying to figure out where to ski over Christmas and over Spring Break, the week of March 15. Prices are so high that week that I wondered if we would do better out west both at Christmas AND in March. Where to go at each of those times of year that is family friendly?
My son is 10, an intermediate skier who loves the glades more than speeding, although he is steady skier with good stamina for a little guy. He needs ski school though to learn moguls and better pole placement! I have been skiing all my life, and my husband is a decent skier, but was out of commission last year with his second ACL reconstruction.
In the East, we usually ski Bretton Woods, but my son is done with the lessons there, and at Xmas, I find that we are bored after 3 days. I spent 20 years skiing Killington, but it never struck me as a kid friendly mountain. So for the NorthEast at Christmas, we are considering:
For the West (perhaps at Christmas, but more likely Mid-March):
Done with Steamboat (husband didn't like it) and Deer Valley (Son is done with it)
I would appreciate some guidance!
