Sportsnet (Canada) drops WC coverage for 2014 season

Just tweeted by commentator, ex-CAST and former Canadian Olympian, Brian Stemmle that the Canadian sports channel Rogers Sportsnet is dropping their coverage of the World Cup after 14 seasons. They used to show good complimentary coverage than CBC who usually only cover DH and some SG events and only the occasional tech event, and at that they only start coverage at Lake Louise. CBC's other channel Bold dropped the live coverage of events, and they used to braodcast the whole thing not just an hour of highlights.

Sad, sad day.

Anyone have recommendations for Euro VPN service to get Eurosport?

That is BS. Who was the idiotic exec that decided on that move? I guess they had to make room for all the pro poker tournaments. Since when did poker become a sport? I hate Sportsnet!

Actually, they saw the light and reversed the decision.

Thanks for the update ZeroGravity. I was going to call Rogers Cable in the morning and blast 'em!

And if you were paying attention, the main NBC network had the Women's GS from Beaver Creek Sunday afternoon. Good weekend for coverage.
