did they explain why they would recommend the SX (especially if you think you do not have a wide foot), the vast majority of people who i see who think they have a wide foot measure medium at best, very seldom does it go the other way
got to agree with lou on this one, sounds like an easy option that they can pump full of foam when it feels too loose after a few days skiing
where are you, we can probably suggest a really good boot fitter somewhere in the area

Please click on and read the compiled information held in the above article, especially the part about "Shell fitting" the boot---this is the starting point in fitting boots correctly.
I think, you, asked us for advice---apparently, we don't promote Surefoot shops on this forum because we see the results produced.
I and most all of the fellas on here would tell you the same info as CEM mentioned in the above quote.
The answer: The RX comes in a 97mm and 100mm last width and we stock and can order which ever one fits you best---the SX comes in a 102mm last width and will fit wider feet, it also has a softer panel over the instep to make the boot easier to put on.
If Surefoot hasn't measured your foot width, or length and then shell checked the boot they plan to sell you, perhaps you should consider our advice.
