Flying into LAX from Australia on Feb 1 with my +1 and epic local pass in hand.
We'll be there for 4 weeks and would like to see each of the areas listed above but not sure of sequence.
Looking for best options to a: acclimatize to the altitude coming from sea level and b: get used to the terrain and work our way up the steepness chain and obviously c: not to too much backtracking.
I'm normally OK on most blacks but have limited off piste powder experience, something Id like to work on this trip. She's an intermediate with some confidence issues on steeper stuff. We're both in our 50's
At this stage thought we'd jump on an internal flight from LAX to either, Reno, Denver or SLC and road trip back to LA via the other resorts but nothing is set in stone.
The "season pass" lessons at Keystone/ Breck sound good and we both need them but not sure if CO would be the best first destination due to altitude. In the same way I gather Canyons is generally a more advanced mtn than the Tahoe ones so it might be best to leave till later in the trip. Whilst the epic pass resorts are already paid for other resorts are not out of the question if crowds and conditions are an issue, eg somewhere like Wolfcreek sounds like it would be great to try.
Accommodation wise nothing fancy needed, 2-2.5 star is fine and we'll probably try our luck with Priceline to try and get under $150pn and hopefully lower.
thanks for any feedback
