At 6'2 and 270 will the 188cm Rocker 2 115 have enough float at my weight for powder or would the 192cm Rocker 2 122 be a better choice? Or a different ski if I'm way off base here. What I am looking for in these skis is something to ski on the few "Boys day" trips each season to Powder King in BC which can vary from chopped up to really deep. I will be skiing with snowboarders who seek out powder and don't want to suck as the lone skier. The reviews I've read on the 155 say its a decent forgiving all mountain ski as well as good in powder. I understand that going to the 122 would lose a lot of the all around ability being powder specific. It would be nice to have that ability for crappy conditions and skiing with my kids but if I'm too heavy for them for powder I'd rather get the 122 live with it on lesser snow days. Opinions?
Me: As above 6'2 270lbs, I used to be a good skier. Grew up skiing Whistler/Blackcomb regularly, ski bummed for a season, all 20 years ago. Got given a set of door prize 165 Rosignol Freeride TDX's I use to ski with my family. My kids are shredding well enough that soon we will be moving up from the local little hill and making the occasional drive to PK. After getting the family new equipment my wife thinks I need new skis that fit properly so this is not an opportunity to be wasted.
