Jason moved from Texas to Loveland. Loveland had basically been split into quadrants due to the Big Thompson flooding. I'm not sure where he lives, but he was likely limited in getting about for a couple of days. Even I-25 was closed from Longmont to Fort Collins (and more at times.)
I was finally able to get out of Johnstown (east of I-25) and came to Loveland to stay at my parents. I felt better being at higher ground since evacuations kept happening in my town. Besides a wet corner of the basement and power outage, I am safe and far enough from the river. For a day there was no way to get in or out so once I got out, I don't want to go back in due to the forecasts. Our offices in Boulder closed for 2 days.
Compared to Lyons, Greeley, and Estes park, we're pretty lucky. It will be years for places to be back to normal--the roads can't be fixed--they must be replaced.
Hope everyone else is well.
