This is a fact of life at Tahoe, which I recall going back to when I first skied there in the early 1980's. I was at Kirkwood March 30, didn't get there until after 9AM. By the time we got parking, tickets and up the first chair it was 10AM and the powder was hammered anywhere with gravity access.
At Squaw if it's going to be busy you need to show up by 7:30AM and have breakfast there before the lifts open. If Squaw has most lifts/terrain open I agree it's not that difficult to avoid big lift lines.
