FWIW, both Sierra and Homewood are best on storm days, with a significant edge to Sierra at Tahoe for keeping lifts open and having great skiing during any cold storm cycle. Since you have Northstar to fill that roll, it's understandable, you've missed Sierra. It would be very worthwhile to ski there the day of or after a storm with someone who can show you the goods in-between the runs (priest, castle, dynamite, rabbit), Huckleberry Canyon, A-bowl and even some hidden stashes in West Bowl. You would be unlikely to find the best spots without a considerable exploring effort, and there are great stashes that require a hike out, so you'd want to know.
Homewood, I'm not nearly as familiar with, but it has good storm skiing, and outstanding views that rival Heavenly's Ridge Run on a clear day.
I lived out there 22 years and never skied Diamond, so your guess is as good as mine.
