K2 Extreme Odd Binding Mount Marks?

Hey guys,

I was just looking at my pair of 2010 K2 Extremes I got for real cheap ($175)

 http://www.the-house.com/8964k2ex10zz-k2-skis.html

(I didn't get them there, just showing the page for info on the skis).

Anyways, the mounting marks on the sidewalls of the skis are kind of interesting. The core center mark is about 4.35cm back from true center. And the traditional mark is 11.85cm back from true center. There is a little set of cm marks between the traditional and core center marks, which I take means that is the intended mounting range.

I'm kind of like what? 11.85cm back from true center seems kind of crazy-like waaaaay too far back. I always generally thought the base settings for twin tips were:

True Center: Park, rails

4cm Back: All Mountain, jumps

6cm Back: Powder

So here's my question. Does that make sense for the traditional setting to be that far back?

Unfortunately I got the skis mounted with Marker Schizo bindings under the impression the "core center" was the true center. So right now they have the ability from being 4.35cm back from true center up to 10.35cm back from true center.

Is it worth it to get them remounted up 4cm or so? That way I'd the bindings could move anywhere from true center to back 6cm.

If I did that the distance between the new mount holes would all be 3cm+, but two would be 1cm away from two old holes.

These are generally going to be my rails/park/groomers/rock skis only. I have another pair of 100mm underfoot twin tips for more powder/all mountain/park(jumps)

Thanks guys

My '09 K2 Extreme's ski just fine mounted on their "traditional" line.
