Took my first trip to South America with my father and brother to ski at Portillo this week. It was one of the best vacations of my life, including the best single day of skiing I've ever had, but more on that later.
Taken in the afternoon, the first day we got here last Saturday.
The next day it started snowing, and they opened Lake Run (possibly for the first time this season). I made a short teaser video from that day.
The following day it continued to snow, and before long, the only lifts open were the beginner lifts. We quit skiing a little early that day. On Tuesday we woke up and the sky was blue and there was fresh snow on the ground! And it's been that way every day since then.
On Wednesday we did some hiking.
The line we hiked and traversed to, as seen from the other side of the resort.
On Thursday I left my father and brother behind to go heli skiing! Best day of skiing in my life! Amazing snow, combined with flying in the heli made it an incredible experience. Video at the end of the post.

Finally, here's my video of the best skiing (and flying) of the trip!
