Post video of your riding! - Page 2

I'm the NASTAR Coordinator for Okemo Mountain in southern Vermont.  On most weekends I set dual courses:  traditional ski gates for skiers and stubbies for boarders.   I do the pacesetting on both courses on my skis and then switch to my board to run the stubbies.   I find snowboards easier on my 67 year old arthritic knees than skiing.

Here's a short video of a few of us running the course two years ago. At the 1:36 mark you'll see me riding the same board as in the video posted earlier.

How about skiing and riding--both in one video!!

My latest.  Washington was fun this year.  At least until my buddy got caught by his sluff and blew a knee.  Great times up until that moment.

The  last day of my season.  Feb 28th at Stratton.  Here's some chest-mount GoPro footage.  Later that day I broke my leg.

The cast came off two weeks ago and I've abandoned the velcro boot.  Physical Therapy has been intense.  I still walk with a limp but think I can start my golf league on time next Thursday.  The biggest disappointment was not being able to race at the NASTAR Nationals at Snowmass but I went out anyhow as a cheerleader and photographer.  I put spikes on the ends of my crutches.

I even managed to get my own picture taken with AJ Kitt and Ted Ligety.

Sorry for being out of touch for so long. I didnt have a very strong finish to my season last year had like 32 days in by Feb, but I finished the season with like 35 days haha.

We didnt get a ton of video - most of this is from Nov and Dec 2013 I think. Michael I would love to get some more feedback. It is just raw footage - no editing or sound. I spent a lot of Nov and Dec working on my heel to toe transitions and finishing my turns more aft - I feel like I definitely improved some (not every turn looks how I want it to:) but I feel like my riding cleaned up a bit.

I have been hitting the gym a lot doing a lot of squats and leg press. I am hoping that combined with wall sits will have my legs in strong shape to hit the ground running early this season. Hopefully the 200 level riding clinic doesnt get canceled again this year due to nobody signing up. I am currently registered for the 200 ride in Nov, and I might do the tree clinic this season if the schedule permits. I didnt end up doing any level 2 stuff last year - maybe this season.

My girlfriend REALLY improved last season. I feel that she has become an extremely strong rider for only having snowboarded 2 seasons (50-60 days total) and having never worked as an instructor.

Thanks Caleb! It's been awful quiet here over the summer. I want to use these videos for MA discussions at my mountain! I started doing a squat with lateral resistance from both hands out in front (either pulled a band at home or a cable machine in the gym).
