Golfers don't need special clothing to play, nor do they have to travel hours away to find a place to practice their sport.
But this isn't the original purpose of the thread. It is about figuring out if the industry is stabbing itself in the foot with the current ski school model.
Our local slopes are full of newbies in jeans, borrowed jackets and rental gear. They didn't travel far to get here or spend a lot on their first outing. These are the folks that often get made fun of for being Gapers and chastised for ruining the snow. Obviously golf has a logistical advantage, but that wasn't the point, which was the reluctance of adults, new to any sport, to take lessons and turn success into retention.
My post was exactly on point with the thread.
