Hello im 6'3/6'4ish, and 165ish pounds. Im looking to buy a pair of park skis but will likely use them all mountain as well, at the moment im looking at a pair of 2014 K2 recoils, but im stuck between if i buy 174 or 169, ive usally always ski on something like 171. Im likely put in the intermediate cat. im just wondering what size people think i should be riding for park skis and what other people ride. thanks it would be a big help.

Your 6'3 / 6'4 and only ride 171s? I'm 6'0 and ride 177s.

As your an intermediate, I would immediately discount the 169's, I think they'd be too short. As the K2 recoils are rockered that adds 5 cm to the length that you should have, plus you want a longer ski for park to stick the landings.

I would say go for either the 174s or possibly the 179s. As you get better I'd say that 179s will be much more appropriate.

I am not a park skier but at your height I think 171 is too short, at least for all mountain skiing.  I'm 5'7-8", 150 pounds and plan to purchase a pair of 174cm Atomic Rituals for this next season.  My daily driver for the past two seasons has been a pair 170cm Nordica Steadfasts.

179-186 cm is what you should be looking at for anything but a SL racing ski.

Also im 165ish pounds, which for my height i say thats a good 20-30 pounds shorter for the average person at my height does that put in any length change?

I'm 5'9" and weigh 165.  I have 12 pairs of skis with only one pair under 178 cm.  My regular ride is a 179.  I use a 185 for faster cruising.  I use 192s for fresh snow, but I'm a bit old school preferring a longer ski than most my size.  I weighted 110 in highschool and skied on 195s back then when I skied every day.  My more normal sized friends were on 204s hahaha

Is not ski gear rental is a smart idea? We can get what we actually need at low price and in fact they will suggest the right gear according to our requirement. What say guys?
