and I don't want to start an argument about full rocker vs tip vs etc and brands either, my questions is more academic I guess.
I am an Intermediate skier 52 and want to ski better and I do ski 1-2 times a week plus week vacation and take lessons at the local hill in NH at least once a year, I know I should take more lessons anyway I would like the opinion of instructors. I am getting new skis this season and I am worried that if I get a full rocker ski it will mask bad habits and poor skiing technique making it more difficult to really improve and that a tip rocker will not mask the errors as much or I could be totally off base.
My goal this season is better, consistent speed, fall line turns. When I demoed skis I did like the wider skis in full rocker and tip rocker in the crud and were fine on hard pack, I am currently on 71mm waist skis but not opposed to staying under 80mm if it will lead to better skiing in the long run.
So does it really matter on the type of rocker and waist size if one wants to improve?
