Hi. I am in the market for a set of new skis. I am 45, 6'0", 185. Been skiing for 35 years. Would consider myself and expert skier and can handle almost anything at a resort mountain but am not quite as adventurous as I was 20 years ago. For the past 10 years I have been skiing exclusively on the east coast in VT. Stowe, Sugarbush and can tackle anything there with no problem except for maybe an icy Goat or Starr. Now that my kids are older and skiing fantastic I plan on venturing out west again once a year. Headed to Breck in March. I have been sking on an old pair of Rossi B1 Bandits. 176, 70cm underfoot. Gotta be 12 years old at least. Feel like they are going to be too old and narrow for out west. I have been looking at the Blizzard bonafide and bushwacker. And now the Brahma enters the mix. In Breck I will probably ski 70% on trail but will definitely want to head up to the bowls and takes some tree and bump runs. Looking for something that can handle it all with some crud busting capability. But I dont want to get a ski that is going to be a little too much to handle. On the groomed blacks and blues i like speed, but want something that will not kill me in the bumps or tight spaces. Was leaning toward the Bushwacker ( there are some fantastic deals on the 2013 model right now) but worried it will be too soft as some people have claimed, but also concerned that Bonafide will be too much and I'll have to work too hard. Don't know what to think about the Brahma as it is brand new. Thinking 180 is the length for me, but the ski?? Any help would be great. Wouls also take feedback on other brands of skis like Rossi E88, but with all the blizzard hype leaning toward them. Thanks.
