Contour Roam2 Best Settings for Skiing?

Thread Starter

I have a Contour Roam2 that I am trying to setup for next season. I noticed that there are several video modes and lighting settings (contrast, sharpness, exposure). Since there is no way to change these settings on mountain I thought I would reach out to see if anyone out there has this camera and has tried different settings and figured out the best setup. I live in Tahoe so most days are pretty bright, especially the last 2 years :-(. I think in those conditions I would want the contrast set lower, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Just go with "auto" and action mode (60 fps).

I have an older model, but a friend uses the Roam2 shooting his mountain biking and says the auto setting works fine and adjusts quickly to changing light.  His videos seems to confirm this.  . Consider trying the Tall HD setting, which makes it easier to get your ski tips in view. Also, there are now third party mounts available on ebay for under $10 that will attach the Contour to ski poles, handle bars, etc.  Ski pole shots of you going up a chair or skiing in powder makes videos a little more interesting..
