Back on the slopes after 12 years/ Beginner Skiis Help.

Hi All,

First off I'd like to say this looks like a great fun community and I am glad to be joining it. I live in NorCal and used to ski when I was 10 years old to probably 12. After just finishing college I am now 24 getting back into skiing just because I have missed it and all my friends have been going for years to Lake Tahoe resorts.

I would rate my skill level still at a beginner however this upcoming winter season I am looking to progress into the intermediate level. I have an epic ski pass to Northstar, Heavenly, and Kirkwood so I will be going every weekend that I can as long as work permits.

I just bought new Rossignol boots, that had not been worn, fit perfectly for me and not to mention got them for 10$ at an REI gearsale. Awesome! Anyways, I am looking to get skiis since it would be cheaper than to rent. I have read the thread about buying skiis on here and I have been doing research on the internet and I have been looking at getting the Rossignol Experience 74 with Xelium 100 bindings at 166cm. Is that right on sizing? I am 5 foot 7-8 inches and weigh 165 usually.

If anybody could suggest others that would be cool too, or if those skiis are fine let me know.

Thanks,

bmoney9,

Welcome to Epicski.  Check out this sale.  It's been advertised here on Epic for a few weeks, but the actual sale just came online.  Shipping is free if you're not in a hurry to get them.

^^^ Like LIquidfeet said, there are some great options at the Start Haus Nordica Blem Sale.

For a beginner your size skiing Northstar and Heavenly a really good start would be something like this.

Nordica Sport Machine $149.00.

If I were you I'd look at the 168cm.

The Nordica Burner is a step up in ski ability but may be fine for you depending on how you progress.
