Ski Decisions

Ok, I'm want to buy my girlfriend some new skis for her birthday. The only problem is that I'm a snowboarder and don't know a whole lot about skis. I've narrowed it down to two choices.

The 2013 Atomic Access Skis-

OR

The Saloman Rockette 90 Skis-

I know that the Rockettes are specifically for women and the Atomics are not. Does that really matter? What would you suggest?

Thank you for the help!

Well, any info on her hight, weight, skiing ability and preferences (groomers, powder, bumps, a combination of all three...) would really help. Any skis she has owned or rented and really liked in the past?

I'm sure lots of members would like to give some advice, but we need some more info on your girlfriend first... for ski picking purposes only wink.gif

Oh! Sorry about that. She's 5'4" and about 150lbs. She has a lot of experience on groomers and a little bit on moguls. She started doing a little bit of pow last year but her skis are really heavy and caused her to sink. They're old K2s. She really wants to get better at doing pow and bumps and she doesn't care at all about park. smile.gif

The Salomon Rockett is going to be a bit more forging for her to take the next step in her skiing, and its going to be a lot more friendly for someone with her stats.

As for the question about unisex vs women specific skis, I don't think it necessarily matters, but between these two skis, the Rockett is probably going to be a better choice.
