My pet peeve is people who think injuries caused by their out of control skiing are inherent dangers to the sport, so don't give a second thought to their own liability. Most people don't drive like maniacs on a busy street knowing that lawsuits and jail time are waiting if they hit somebody, but many of those same people ski out of control.
The unfortunate side-effect of the ski safety act warning signs is people thinking that it releases them for their bad behavior, instead of simply releasing the ski area from their bad behavior.
A few years ago I was stopped on a run when a 12 year old snowboarder hit me from behind going about 30 mph. No warning from him, just a momentary scrape noise and then I'm hit HARD. Kid brought the board up at the last second and hit me at knee/thigh level with his board on the back right side of both knees. I had a nasty bruise on my thighs and in the moment it felt like both my knees were blown out. I have a very weak left knee from a catastrophic knee injury a decade ago, and I was sure this was it for my days of skiing.
In the moment I was royally pissed at the kid, but what steams me to this day is dad's reaction, who happened to be stopped about 15 feet away. Dad's reaction was to tell me if I had injuries, I shouldn't be skiing, because "these things happen" and "it was an accident."
I'm comparing that with what my dad's reaction would have been if I had hid somebody like that in his presence, which would have been to make the victim wait in line to kick my ass up and down the ski slope before making me sit in the car for the rest of the vacation.
This was a groomed intermediate run, and me, my wife, and this kid and his dad were the only people on it. The kid could board, he was just apparently paying attention to his dad and not where he was going when he creamed me.
Also, I'm peeved that some people choose to use different equipment than I do. Obviously my choices are best and if they ski on something else they are doing it wrong and it just ruins my day.
