Riding: fast fire roads & single track
Duration: most of my rides these days are ~ 60' & fast / solo in morning.
Issues w current bikes:
Roadie - built when I was riding 4+ hour sessions & tires too narrow for Vermont 'roads' ; also no shoulders in Vermont. Too many routes cross gravel roads that may or may not be recently graded.
XC - rear shock is absent oil dampening, front sticks, basically a 1x9 set up. 26 platform appears to be dying... Will likely turn into a bike for trailer/kiddo. Drivetrain is shot.
New roadie?! Why? Perhaps for a snappier ride?
27.5 xc hardtail : maybe!
29er? : I'm 5'9" w short legs / long torso & front ends look rediculus - I run a negative stem on my 80mm / 26" now
Cross bike: ? With UCI allowing disc in stoked, yet need to know more!
I've moved away from the bike scene when I stopped doing 24hr solo mtn races almost 10 years ago, so my perceptions & knowledge is uber dated! Any help is appreciated.
